Awhile ago, I was receiving emails from my program director informing me of internship opportunities. Mostly I would ignore them, however, I received a forwarded email from a counselor in Kamas that said that South Summit School District was interested in hiring a full-time intern. Knowing that Chris really wanted to be closer to his family, I looked to see if they had an elementary teacher job opening, which they did. Chris and I talked about it, and we decided to apply. And by apply, I mean I was the only one that ended up applying. Chris has been crazy busy trying to get his students ready for the SAGE, and hasn't had a second to even get reference letters. Because we have mentioned this to a few family members, we have decided to make our decisions known.
I haven't heard back from South Summit, and because Chris hasn't even applied yet, we have decided that we are going to be staying in Montezuma Creek for the next school year. It has been nice being next to my family - even if we rarely see them. It has also been a great experience for Chris and I. We have grown a lot closer. A lot of our really good friends are leaving, which makes us sad. Change is not easy. We are loosing a lot of our really good neighbors, and it's hard to comprehend what it will be like next year. If anyone knows any awesome, super cool high school teachers that need a job, the high school we live behind is hiring almost every subject.
I finished spring semester last week, and start my last summer of actual classes the week after next. My excitement is beyond words. I will start my internship in the fall, and it looks like I will be doing that at San Juan High School. Which makes me really excited. I really do love this area and the students here. This is where my heart is.
That is all of our news for now.
